An internal tool for the Amazon Fuse team, built over a six-month internship: gather the requirements, design it, ship it to production.
The application lets authorised users query, edit and delete entries in a production database through a React frontend. The interesting problem was never the CRUD, it was who is allowed to do what. I built an end-to-end authentication pipeline with gated APIs, so every destructive action is tied to an identity and a permission before it reaches the data.
Stack
Fully serverless on native AWS: API Gateway at the edge, Lambda for the handlers, DynamoDB for storage. Nothing to patch, nothing running overnight, and cost that falls to near zero when nobody is using it.
Scale
150 daily users and over 3,000 daily requests, peaking above 12,000, served at under 300 ms with minimal operational cost. CI/CD from the start, so shipping a change was never the risky part of making one.
It has outlived the internship. A year after I handed it over, the team still uses it every day, with over 100,000 page views a quarter.
